The bug that leaden Cyber MondayTweetnew computer bug for RBS. A failure that fell badly in full cyber monday...

Many clients of the British Bank RBS found themselves Monday night unable to pay by credit card, while Christmas shopping in full, due to a new computer bug swing.

"We have really caused problems. It is totally unacceptable that the customers could not have access to their own money"

Susan Allen, responsible for client relations at RBS

Because of these problems, between 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm Monday, many customers of RBS found themselves unable to pay by credit card in shops or on the internet.  This then that Monday was the day of the "Cyber Monday", where many promotions are offered on the internet.

RBS, which is controlled by the British Government since his rescue during the financial crisis, had provoked the anger of its 15 million customers for its slowness to adjust a computer bug in June 2012. This bug had prevented its clients to withdraw money and disrupted the automatic transfers to pay bills, loans or wages for more than a week.

Last March, the Bank had faced new computer problems which had prevented its clients to withdraw money, transfer or access their account online during an evening.
